No smoking!!!

A law passed by the legislature parliament three months ago that prohibits people from smoking and chewing tobacco in public places is being implemented from today.

As per the law people will not be allowed to smoke cigarette, cigars or hookah and chew tobacco in public places including schools, colleges, hospitals, children’s home, baby care centres, public transport, government buildings, industry and factories, hotels, restaurants, marketplaces ad religious sites.

Those breaching this law are liable for eviction from the spot, a fine of Rs 100 for first time offence and a fine of up to Rs 10,000 and a jail-term for repeated offence.
